Named after Brig. Gen. Louis Lynn Stuart (U.S. Army), the Lynn Stuart Pathway is a half-mile trail connecting the BVVM memorials. It was dedicated Sept. 22, 2006. The pathway features interpretive panels with historical background for each conflict, granite markers, and steel benches adorned with donor plaques.
Of the trail’s 18 memorial sites, a majority have life-sized, bronze statues designed and sculpted by Navasota’s J. Payne Lara.
WAR ON TERROR
Dedicated on May 30, 2005.
Site features a steel relic from one of the World Trade Center Towers that was struck by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001.
AMERICAN REVOLUTION: “LIBERTY OR DEATH”
Dedicated on July 1, 2010.

WAR FOR TEXAS INDEPENDENCE: “COME AND TAKE IT”
Dedicated on Oct. 2, 2010, the 175th anniversary of the Battle of Gonzales.
The bronze statue depicts a rugged frontiersman.
KOREAN WAR: “KATCHI KAPSHIDA” or “WE GO TOGETHER”
Dedicated on Nov. 11, 2010, around the 60th anniversary of the start of the Korean War.
Site features two bronze statues, one Korean soldier and one American soldier, standing together against a common enemy.
WORLD WAR II
“DAY OF INFAMY”
Dedicated on Dec. 7, 2011, the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Site features a bronze statue in the likeness of President George H.W. Bush as a young U.S. Navy airman.

“LETTERS FROM HOME”
Dedicated on Nov. 11, 2013.
The statue features a U.S. Army infantryman resting on a stone wall reading a letter from home. The memorial pays tribute to those who served in Europe as well as those who supported the war effort back home.
“ROSIE THE RIVETER”
Dedicated on Dec. 7, 2017.
Site features a Rosie the Riveter to represent all of the women who helped America win the war by managing the homefront and working jobs usually held by men so they could go off to fight.

WAR OF 1812: “DON’T GIVE UP THE SHIP”
Dedicated on June 1, 2012, the 200th anniversary of the start of the war.
The statue’s title is derived from the call made by U.S. Navy Captain James Lawrence, captain of the American frigate USS Chesapeake, to his crew. Although mortally wounded, Lawrence urged his crew to continue fighting against a British frigate, HMS Shannon. The battle occurred on June 1, 1813 near Boston, Mass.
VIETNAM WAR: “TITLED HOT LZ”
Dedicated on May 31, 2014.
Site features a bronze UH-1D Huey with soldiers preparing to drop onto a dangerous (or “hot”) landing zone.

Site features two bronze statues in the likeness of soldiers from opposing sides, each looking back at his former enemy.

Site features two bronze statues in the likeness of unlikely allies: a U.S. Army Buffalo Soldier and a scout of the Tonkawa Tribe.

Future statues are planned and will commemorate the China Relief Expedition, Mexican Border Service, Granada/Panama/Dominican Republic, and Kosovo War. A memorial entrance is also in the works.
